MILLWALL CHANGES UPDATE

This is an update about Millwall’s latest changes to their squad.

WAS MANAGER CRAIG RIGHT TO CHANGE THINGS ?

HAVE THE CHANGES BEEN SUCCESSFUL ?

Here’s a run down of the changes and the difference they have made –  to date.

BASED ON LEAGUE MATCHES

Millwall manager decided to change his policy by signing mostly younger players and sell older guys. It has to be said that the deal with Birmingham to swap out keeper BETO for PYATOV was so far – our best deal and tough decision which paid off. Beto  was one of out top players, but he wasn’t doing enough for us so we took the deal and since joining the club PYATOV has been a great addition with 6 mom awards in just 12 games. His performances have certainly helped us gain more points. Beto being 32 yr old and Pyatov 30 yr old was thought to be not bad age for keeper.

Another of our deals which has worked out for best – to date – was our deal to sign NILMAR, he was playing at El Jaish SC when I took a chance – 30 yr old – although not a younger type player it was thought to be worth a gamble at the time. He was in P/X for Machado who again wasn’t doing enough. NILMAR has been our best buy to date, He has played 9 matches, scored 8 WITH 1 ASSIST AND 1 MOM award (woulda got more if Pyatov hadn’t won them). So, although these 2 players are 30 yrs old, they have delivered for us and we hope they can continue with top performances.

We brought in younger players as well.

Four 23 yr olds, two 25 yr olds, one 21 yr old and one 26 yr old

I’m playing these players in certain positions, not just to assist or score but to work hard in certain areas and support the forwards/ Defence.

In September we played 8 league matches and earned 8 points.

so far after 5 matches in October we have earned 9 points. We hope that our blend of young n old will help us up to a top 10 finish which would be a huge difference after being 2nd bottom for a spell.
